I was called at lunchtime today from phone no. 01618501883. A recorded message stated that they were from HMRC and that there was a lawsuit against me and that I should press 1 to speak to my case officer. I knew it was a scam and looked on this website to confirm the fact. How many people fall for this scam (especially the elderly)? I know an individual can block these numbers and I have done just that. But surely if HMRC or other organisations are aware of this scam, BT should be able to block/disconnect

The company is a scam company, they are not a legal company the most important thing is that there is no such company in 601 international house, 223 regent street London, the address which they provided to me.they are actually calling from India because the number has the +91 in the beginning which is country code of India.please beware of this company

It's a scam. I called back because it was local Aberdeen number, once they mentioned accident in my family I knew it is a scam. Best thing to do, just block the number.
