Found their website: http://www.echelonmarketing.co.uk/ What stupid method is it to call me and claim I was in a severe car accident?? How did they get my number? What accident? Why me? What claim? They were offering me PPI. Guess it might have something to do with Experian credit report trial for which I signed up recently, but not sure about that.

I got a call this morning (Sunday) at 08:30. It's a good job I didn't answer otherwise they would have had a piece of my mind. I work for a telecoms provider myself and, like to police our outbound customers to make sure they're not doing crazy stuff like this.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 28958399xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with life insurance, accident claims, PPI - but also as some 3rd party call centre working with O2. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

As before, I don't say a word when picking up the phone. Genuine callers will ask for me by name, this bunch just hang up. Today it was this number, yesterday it was 02039 313 517 I am sick to the back teeth of being disturbed by these people multiple times per day.
rolific PPI junk message company who usually use 0844 numbers to delivery their junk voicemails, however they appear now to have changed their numbers to 0161 (Manchester) geographical ones. They also use 0161 265 0135 & 0161 265 012 ....DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME LISTENING TO THESE SPAM MESSAGES!!!!!
