Have been having a rash of calls in our local area from people calling claiming to be from various 'car insurance ' or 'legal service' firms saying 'you were in an accident' asking about wanting to claim for damages. They come from various numbers in different towns - Goole, Machynlleth, Peterhead, Thurso, Merthyr Tydfil,Yeovil, Strathy,Manchester (4x), Leeds and more - this is just off my phone. Today, I told the guy he was not allowed to phone numbers which have opted out and I got a mouthful of abuse b

Has called me three times today, Indian sounding man said he was from TPS, I said I wasn’t me, but he carried on and then asked about date of expiry on my debit card, I said I didn’t have the cards with me and he hung up !!!

SCAM / SPAM. Knew my name. Told me he was calling about my car accident. Got abusive when I said I didn’t drive. I put the phone down and he called back 5 times from the same number, then a sixth using an ‘international’ number. I rejected the call each time and then blocked the number.
Got a call from this number on my land line - the guy asked me to confirm my name before reading off what sounded like my username and password for something private (online log in). He then asked me what washing machine I used before hanging up. Weird...
