Over several months i have received an automated telephone call which states something like "If you are in debt £10000 we can write off 70% of that debt" I just put the phone down. This number has been spoofed so that it appears as the CLI of the caller when it has no relationship to the people originating the call. This number was assigned to a legitimate business in Surrey. They have now changed their number. The spoofing still carries on and people are getting missed call messages with this number on their mobiles and landlines. Only one problem. I haven't given anyone permission to pass on my number. Most people registered with telephone preference service would think it covers these sorts of calls. They are NOT getting any info from me -if they have my phone number that is far too much already!
