SCAM A very poor scam at that, automated response once it knows it's a live number (e.g. you say Hi etc), and goes on about being the National Crime Agency I think it said, and your (my) National Insurance Number has been involved in a scam, and that they are cancelling my NI account, I just hung up at that point, I had more important stuff that was needing to be done, hang up and report it to the Police Hotline, they may be able to find details to find those responsible. https://www.actionfraud.police.

Indian accented man called and asked for a person by name. Claimed to be from Benefit UK and denied being a fraudster. Hung up when I denied being whom he d asked for. Caller ID displayed "International number" but call log actually showed 02087255201, so either or both of these was spoofed (falsely declared). Dialled the 0208.. No. with my number witheld and heard BT-like recorded message saying something like "Rajapak Mithalia cannot answer your call right now". If the 0208... number is false, the true
