Was called this morning about 10am was a recorded message, saying we need your authority to pass payment to amazon of £500, and also about a £1000 that needs authorising, the recorded message was crackling and hard to hear all but i just hung up. then did 1471 to see who it was as they made out it was my bank wanting authorisation.

SCAM Fraud BEWARE ! This number has only recently appeared on this site (August 2023) from other people checking. Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. Hung up on me and didn't call me back when I told him I keep very little in the account, whilst I was silently checking the account in the background. Considered as a scam call. Automated message speaks of unusual activity on your Bank Account, eg a £200 purchase from Amazon not thought to be made by you and a £1,000 transaction from abroad. Hang up. Do not "press 1" or any other numbers. Ring your Bank if you feel you need to.

SCAM called offering for my business to be featured in a publication which will highlighting legitimate local businesses and rogue traders (hopefully I fall into the former). Asked if I'd like to be featured as their "(my profession) of the year" for a fee, when I questioned it they hung up. Initially claimed to be from a crime monitoring unit, which was odd since they called from a mobile number.

Fraud - asking for bank details. Called to say there has been a transaction on debit account and need my details to either reject or accept.

Claimed an Amazon payment of £1000 on a foreign transaction had been made. Treated as a Scam call

Fraud - foreign-sounding caller purporting to be from VISA Security. When I asked which VISA account the suspect transaction was on the caller swore and hung up. I don't believe that is VISA policy or that VISA fraud investigation works from a questionable domestic number appearing to be in Stafford.

Claimed they were from Windows Service Centre and that someone was trying to hack my computer I told them I wasnt interested and hung up They immediately rang back quoting my name and address I told them my Windows 98 computer wasnt connected to the Internet and they said I paid my Internet quarterly I replied quotfor my tabletquot The woman saw she wasnt getting anywhere and politely terminated the call

Same as others who have reported this number: automated message, female voice, unspecified bank or card provider, two transactions referred to - one, “Amazon” and one, “international monetary transfer site”, press 1 to speak about to someone, etc ….. definitely dodgy and dangerous.
