Scam claiming to be BT about to cut off your broadband due to lack of payment.

Fraud - tell you that HMRC have issued a warrant for your arrest and to press 1 then they leave the connection open at their end and charge you premium rates for the call. Please don't answer - people have lost up to £300 pressing 1 and then they continually try you on different numbers every day after this. This should have been stopped long ago by the authorities - it's a disgrace that it hasn't been.

Keep getting calls about an accident on this number. Can not call it back, just get a recorded message, which is the same as number leaves on voicemail. Avoid.

This number keeps ringing and is unsolicited - ignore it

This number has called me several times over the last couple of days. I phoned back today as it is a local number and actually got an answer John at Assist Financial. Looked this up and yet again it is another hard sell scamming PPI company. When will something be done about these low life harrassing companies. Also apparently, they are based in Wilmslow, so how do they get to use the local 01933 dial code? Or is this another development in the scammers armoury?

Said that I had recently signed up online - within the last 2 minutes. Suggested that my ID might have been hacked.

The caller knew my surname, I couldn't quite pick up the name they gave I think it was something like "charter" they said they'd be able to save me money on bills then proceeded to ask which newspaper I read before I hung up.

Fraud THEY SAID IT WAS A PAYPAL CALL AND AN ORDER FOR AN I PHONE WAS AGAINST MY ACCOUNT. WANTED ME TO CHECK EMAILS THEN ASKED IF I WAS ON A PHONE, TABLET OR PC? I ASKED FOR THERE NUMBER TO RING BACK BUT THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T GIVE IT SO HUNG UP.

Number called me then cut off after a few words "i'd like to speak to..." I called it back and received an automated message saying "Congratulations you have successfully installed...." I hung up at that point. Fortunately my phone is very old fashioned so is unlikely to have successfully installed anything.

Tried to sell me a sim card deal only

This number phones me everyday and idiot answer but today I did and soon as i said whose calling please they hanged up....be careful of these people scammers at large.
