they called me but no one was speaking. When I called back I was greeted by a help desk voice. After 5 min of no response, I hung up.

SCAM - Pre-recorded message phishing attempt talking about compromised NI number

Aggressive Indian call centre. Have called every day for a week so far. I ve given up asking to be removed from their caller list. Now hang up as soon as they identify themselves. Our elec contract expires in 6 months, so I m expecting about another 100 calls. Can t block as landline and we are TPS registered :(

They ve tried calling twice this morning despite me blocking them!

It was a Northumbria Water call alert about a leak in the area. A visit to the website confirmed that there was a local problem. (Why can't these companies publish the numbers they use to make calls?)

I think they can be prosecuted for this harassment and dishonesty, pretending people have claims when they know nothing about whether they have or not, and be heavily fined. THis company called me and said a member of my family had been involved in a car crash. I asked could this be my mum, who had driven me to work this morning and then gone home, but wouldn t give me more information, or even tell me if she was ok. Eventually they said that she hadn t been in an accident and it was a sales call. Disgusting.

They are an Indian call centre who use spoof caller ID numbers. Do not trust them! Block them with a call blocker (you may need to block VOIP calls)or answer the call something like this: "This is the FBI - we have you surrounded! Come out with your hands up! All units - GO! GO! GO!" That should make them hang up!
