I have managed to confirm that calls from this number are from a company debt management company called Stephenson Drake (www.stevensondrake.com. They operate by automated cold calling your number. You will either hear silence or a message asking if you are having problems with debt. If you press 5 to speak to someone then you are cut off BUT your number is stored and you will receive a follow up call from them. SCAM: Automated message saying my national insurance number was involved in illegal activity and I would be arrested if I didn't "press 1 to speak to an officer". I did not press 1 and the call ended after the automated message finished. I called back and the number was not recognised.
I ve been receiving daily calls from this number for the last 1.5 months, I tried answering at first, asking them to remove me from their database. Then I got calls with no message/answer at the other end. In the end I blocked them using my mobile phone block service, however in the last week, I ve received a number of "private number" calls, which I happen to have missed - but when checking last night noticed that they ve all come either at the same time or 1 minute later than a blocked call from 01942

SCAM Claimed she was "'Yennifer' from 'Wirgin' media technical department"! Woman had very 'thick' 'Indian'-style accent. She said "oh, oh, oh," when I said I was busy & I would ring Virgin later. She'd done the "How are you this morning?", like a lot of the phone scams do. Nothing was said about security questions! Suspect this was another scam call.
Say they are from Sky but are not. When you ask them a question, they hang up.
