I played along but may have laid it on a bit thick about starting my Son's computer up and they went away... shame I wanted to know what they were after - especially as I don't have a BT connection!

Rang saying they were from the National grid complaints department saying they had a compliant about my electricity supply. Asked for serial numbers and meter readings from my electricity meter. After 10 minutes of messing him around, he gave me this number to ring. I rang national grid in Leicester who told me they only deal with Gaz not electricity so tell em nothing.
Said he wanted to send ppi forms. A bit scary as he had my full name and address.

SCAM - potential Fraud Caller advises of an unusual purchase on your Amazon Prime account - in this instance £1049 - and asks for either confirmation (respond button 1) or query (respond button 2) . Curiously they refer to a card payment with "your usual payment card" and give no confirmation such as last 4 digits. Has all the makings of seeking to get you to part with bank/credit card details. Beware. Number is quoted on dial back with extra leading zero
