I had a silent call (on 15/5/15)& as I was expecting a call from unknown people on this area code, I used 1471 and phoned back. I heard a recorded message "You were called today by Media Match. The cal was not important and we will try again later. Goodbye" A Google search for Media Match shows a US firm with this name, but on websites similar to this one they claim that they do not cold-call and that their name is being mis-used. Fake Virgin Media call, said I was not with them and they switched to saying they were from Sky! Called 5 times one day and then a few more the next few days. Will see if they call again. All sounding like they were from India, bad English and grammar. Suspect it's a scam for getting your money.

scam call on pretext of an accident claim - have had several similar scam calls on various incoming UK numbers since moving house with a newly allocated phone number.
Answerd phone and met with silence, then after about 10 seconds or so call was disconnected.
Said that because they’d refunded an overpayment that my account may show in arrears and I may receive an automated letter due to this error. They will remove it but wanted to let me know that they may not be able to stop the letter. If they’re making this many calls for this reason they should probably just have sent an email to everyone!
