+44 161 082 4479 just had a call from this number. It’s an automated message saying I’m involved in tax fraud and I must press 1 on my keypad NOW. At that point I just hung up so don’t know what else was said but I’m sure if I was involved in tax fraud the last thing I would get is an automated message. Please be careful and just hang up and report it on here or anywhere so others can know about it. This is a dangerous call.

SCAM - pretending to be from BT - about my internet speed. BT is not my ISP, but call using a local Derby number told me that BT is the parent company of all Interned and Broadband services, not true! Trying to force me to check my speed when I can check it through my own ISP. Wouldn't take no for an answer, told him I am going to call BBC Scammers and he hung up.

This was the telephone number given to me by a self-proclaimed "Microsoft engineer" as the legitimate number for a "Microsoft Windows Service Provider" in Oxford. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. Was sent straight to voicemail, even though they rang me. Disconnected call and immediately got a message on my phone advising about blocking scam callers, was about to click yes, when a link appeared to a website? Seems like some kind of scam, avoid and beware!
