Had a call from this number earlier asking me about the car accident I had and that they d been informed by the RTA association. THE WHO? I ASKED The Road traffic accident association she said. Oh okay so what did they tell you I asked. She said It s about the accident. What one I said as I ve had three this month already. Oh we have only been informed about the first one she said. This number rang today but hung up part way through the answerphone message. After reading comments here and elsewhere, I rang and asked for our number to be removed from their database. The guy I spoke to was happy to do this and also happy to tell me that the third party from whom they receive numbers is Communications Avenue. Looks like these are the people we should really be shutting down. A quick Googke shows that they re based in Newark.

Had two calls, allegedly from this number, today. Pre-recorded message as Rachel above, about HMRC filing a law suit against me.

Called me up saying they were from "Support Assist" and understood I had recently been in an accident. After it transpired that this was not the case, the charming man on the other end of the line said "you fucking idiot" and hung up. Tried to call them back to glean a little more information - an automated message tells you to email [email?protected] - which bounces back. I will track them down eventually.

Friendly woman rang claiming to have talked to me before about solar panels, asked if I had any. Man rang next day offering some energy saving device. Rang back and accused me of being rude when I hung up on him.

Of course it's a scam. Internet providers do not phone you (unless you have asked them to do so).

As above, offered a free alarm with a home visit on the same day. When I said I didn't want a home visit, they hung up abruptly.
