A very well spoken man said he was calling from some company (I didn't catch the name) to do with my Scottish Widows life insurance. Received two calls from this number just after 4am. No one spoke, call ended after a few seconds with a click. Turned my mobile off. There had been a third attempt. I was astonished to find out where this call came from. To my knowledge, there is no one there that I know.

Caller ID identified the call was from Bishops Stortford. The caller said he was from O2 offering a 30% discount on my tariff. I told him I was suspicious of this call, he diverted me to another person who repeated the discount spiel. Asked why I'd be getting a discount, he said many complaints to O2 has led them to offer 'selected customers' a discount; I wouldn't have to give him any personal details, he would send me 2 texts. so I told him to sod off and disconnected the call.
