Received an automated call reporting to be from amazon regarding a suspicious purchase on my account. Amazon do not have my landline number, which is how I received the call.

Call center - calling several times a day. I didn't answer, but called back and they knew who I was. Asked if I was still a tenant or in housing association and that they were something to do with housing repair service. I advised I was a homeowner, so she apologised and agreed to take my number off their list. I've no idea if they are legit or not.

Tried to access banking details
Fraud - I think. A male with I think and Asian accent called from this number. He asked for me by name and said he was calling from Microsoft then asked if I was the main user of the computer in my hone. I asked "Which Computer is that then?" and he hung up. Another number check site has lots of people checking this number and it appears to be from various different places so I think it must be an attempt to access a persons computer or something like that.

They do announce themselves to contact customers on behalf of EON and are not actually EON.I am sure eon knows about it despite they deny they use such call centres. Scammer claiming to be from O2, offering to reduce my bill by 30%. Didn't confirm my name, if it matches the account holder name, or any account details besides the phone number (which they'd just called, so duh...). Just started asking for the verification code they send you by text when accessing your account. The one where the message specifically states not to give the code to anyone, even people claiming to be O2 staff... Probably not calling from Edinburgh either, probably a spoofed number.

I received a call today mane from this number- the person concerned tried to leave a VM - but nothing within message. I called this number back - and a person who sounded elderly said he had called a wrong number. Mystified.
