A company called Chase Alexander (although a search with Companies House shiows this to be a dissolved business) phoning with regards to a car accident I've supposedly had.

This line should belong to some company, but no remark on internet about it. Haven't found any info for this one, does anyone have some experience with this number? Be aware if this number calls, it is for a shared costs, so better not to call back. Have checked also different formats of this number, but no luck. As people do search for this number, it should be used, so be aware - similar numbers are already reported with debts/loans, financial services and PPI.

nuiscance call re laser eye surgery. had looked for nearest clinic details to be emailed to me instead got inundated with calls. rang them back to stop calls they don't think the contact process is wrong so why do they ask for email address in first place.

Cold called by this number - they knew my name - usual "you havent claimed your Cat C compensation for the road accident you had recently"..... despite the fact it was 6 years ago and wasnt even in the car at the time !!!!

Fraud American accent, pre-recorded message saying it was HMRC and there was a problem with my tax record. Told me that in order to avoid jail I needed to sort this out immediately and had to press 1 to be put through to an advisor. Potentially very threatening for anyone who didn’t recognise it as a scam. Google search reveals that if I had pressed 1 my call might have been rerouted to a different country and I could have faced hefty phone charges.

Fraud

Fraud - tell you that HMRC have issued a warrant for your arrest and to press 1 then they leave the connection open at their end and charge you premium rates for the call. Please don't answer - people have lost up to £300 pressing 1 and then they continually try you on different numbers every day after this. This should have been stopped long ago by the authorities - it's a disgrace that it hasn't been.

They phoned my Nan telling her they wanted to give her a £ pound refund, she laughed and put down the phone

We are in the German speaking part of Switzerland and they They want to speak a mixture of English and French. Our numbers are marked with a sign that we dont't want telemarketing calls. They ignore that and they call each number, one by one.
