Hi I worked for this company. They buy your details from either the blackmarket or datasets where you have opted in. So if you bought something somewhere online that required your number chances are you inadvertently opted in. They use a network of local numbers to seem reputable. The liverpool branch specialises in road traffic accident. They ll fish about for details asking you that they were informed a car accident was reported by your household within the last 2.5-3 years. This number has called me numerous times over the past 3 or so days, including twice within 10 minutes of each other this morning! If you really want or need to speak to me, then leave a message on my answer machine, simple!! - these people will never leave a message and I will NEVER answer their harrassment calls on a number that I don t recognise. I have now blocked this number from ringing me any more.

Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.

This is a new, and weird, one for me. Called my landline but disconnected when I picked up (now they know this is a live number,,,damn!!). No message left so I'll never know if I have been left millions of pounds from an unknown benefactor who needs me to handle his money, for a small fee, to help them evade paying local taxes or being claimed by a fictional Government department.
