A man with a strong Indian/Pakistani accent called and told me he was calling from BT as my broadband connection was to be updated. He asked me to turn on my router and my laptop and the update would automatically start to download. Several calls a day from these annoying people. I normally leave answerphone on and ignore. Today though I took the call. Man with Scottish accent asked for me by name and said he was calling from the green energy fund. I hung up. I am TPS registered.

SCAM Caller stated they were from talk talk and someone had attempted to access our internet this morning therefore it was insecure. I became suspicious when caller tried to get me to download an app to my phone. Cancelled the call and Called talk talk directly. They had no knowledge of this situation and said they wouldn’t call from this number.
I had a email apparently from Meta (Facebook) to say this number (07956836341) had been added to my Facebook account and with a link to report this if it wasn’t me who added the number. The date on the email was wrong (Friday 6th June 2023 doesn’t exist). The link asked for my FB password so I didn’t continue. I checked my FB security details and no number had been added. It looks as though this is a scam to try to access FB passwords.
