TAX Automated call advising they were HMRC and that I was involved in a tax fraud allegation by them. Told to press 1 to speak to HMRC. Told if I did not, a warrant would be issued for my arrest which would happen imminently!
Caller claimed to be VW Finance calling about an agreement. They couldn t tell me the reg no of the car they were calling about. Also didn t seem to know my name.

Out of courtesy I rang back in the morning, as I had been expecting someone important to call and wondered whether it was the person I wanted it to be. Had a call from.this number but im pretty sure its been spoofed as it came up with +44 instead of the full area code. Claiming to be citizens advice which unless you've called them which i havnt they dont call you. Hung up and blocked. Had calls from other similar numbers too and sounded like the call clicked to be recorded was silent to behin with.

Claimed they from smart insurance & company changed from original. They knew lots of info about insurance. Asked for acc details, put phone down and immediately rang my appliance insurance company and they said they havent been taken over by smart insurance. I felt relieved that i hadnt given out my bank details but its shocking how lnowledgeable they were and the information they currency had on it. Blocked immediately. Pls beware and be careful.
+44 161 082 4479 just had a call from this number. It’s an automated message saying I’m involved in tax fraud and I must press 1 on my keypad NOW. At that point I just hung up so don’t know what else was said but I’m sure if I was involved in tax fraud the last thing I would get is an automated message. Please be careful and just hang up and report it on here or anywhere so others can know about it. This is a dangerous call.
