SCAM call from someone suggesting he was from BT and seeking access to our broadband to correct a fault as they had been receiving lots of alerts and that our IP address was being used in the public domain. On calling back, i got an automated message saying that this number had not been recognised.

Asked if I was a council house tenant If I have any cracked walls... which I coincidentally do but I don't confirm...I Kept Pressing Him: How They Have Number and Name (if only in part). He remainded polite and calm but still keen to get more information, WITHOUT giving HIS organisation's details.
PC Technical Support - rings about your computer problem? Annoying and have no problems - And never asked for support and would never give any details. Best to end the call....

Unknown caller. when dialed there is an exchange message "The number you have dialed has not been recognised. Please check and try again." This seems to be occurring more frequently. It is now possible to make calls from another number look as though the call is coming from somewhere totally different, for example a call made from a Glasgow number can seem to come from London. Be wary. This experience happens on calls from 01506 674749 to 01506 674752 inclusive.

I got a call at work and a female welsh voice said `I understand you are under 60 years old and therefore you qualify for a pensions bonus payment of £1,000 which you will receive within the next 60 days. I read in the press that the STAR 9500 smartphone has been found to have a factory installed trojan virus. So I disabled my STAR 9500 and moved the sim card to an old phone. A few days later the old phone reported a missed call and a text message. The message was just this number. I didn t call it back.

Phone rang. Noisy background, someone spoke and then it went dead. Seems like a faulty sales call.
This company wanted details from me to compare energy providers. Told them I would use uSwitch. They said they use same engine and chased for details. I declined and told them I am on TPS list so shouldn t receive cold calls and that without my authorization it is illegal. They said they wouldn t call again, but keep trying to call, but they re added to my blacklist app and reported to app community as a pest.
