Cold-calling to do with promoting books on Amazon.com for self-published authors. I am not the person they’re trying to contact, although they have the same name. Poor research on their part. They also have my email address. It looks like a London number, but I’m not 100% convinced that it’s UK based. They referred to Amazon.com, not Amazon.co.uk. Caller had an American accent. Judging by other reviews, they’re looking scam money from you. This is a new direction. SCAM

This is around the 10th call in a month using same script from different numbers (all now blocked). Two calls from this number with a recorded voice message claiming £700 has been drawn on our account to Amazon and further £2000 cash transfer, then a couple of number options to press to speak to someone. Needless to say, I hung up. Yet another time-wasting and potentially dangerous scam.

Phone handily warned me it was a potential scam call while it was ringing so I didn't answer.

Today, someone called my number and claimed that they needed to repair my house. When I told them that they were a scammer, they immediately disconnected. The person sounded like they were from India and struggled with English.

I told him I have never put it on market, DO NOT WANT to sell it and to remove my details from hiis database! Clearly a SCAM . NOT EVEN HAARTS PROPERTY TELEPHONE NUMBER!

Claiming to be a company called Phones Ltd about a 40% discount code for o2 - even though that’s not my network provider. Put another person on the phone when she got flustered, male then started asking me my security question, what model of phone I had, mt network provider was etc. SCAM - avoid!! Trying to hack into my details. Do NOT give any details to this caller!!

Missed call - Missed the call. Rang back out of curiosity and got the message "This number has been suspended through suspected misuse or fraud. If affected call..." and gave the Fraud Line Interestingly, I look at my Blocked Numbers log and I have in the past blocked 0161 636 3721 - 3726, so it must be an allocation bought up by someone dodgy who just flips the outgoing number when it gets burned.
