Silent call hung up when i answered

Called me twice today. Both times they hung-up a few seconds after I answered, without saying a word.

I received a call from this number a while ago. When I picked it up I heard "thanks for your patience you will be transferred to an agent now" and the call was terminated. I called them back and a woman answered hello this is consumer helpline, how can I help . She then started saying something about loans. I am applying to jobsites and apparently there is a connection between a jobsite and this call, as I ve read in other comments as well.

I answered, there was a pause, then a robotic "Hello?" I hung up, they haven t bothered trying my number again yet after 5 mins.

Well, after a couple of days of peace and quiet from this number.. they ve started again, with a VENGEANCE! I have reported them to EVERYONE they can be reported too, and now, im on plan B! FYI if you re on "talktalk" you can set up "last caller barring" which allows you to block up to 10 numbers from ringing you :) and its FREE!! im in the process of setting this up now, and hopefully it will stop all this nonsense! This is a PPI company who has purchased local numbers. They were asked to remove my number but have called again another 4 times!!
