I received a text message from them telling me I owed them over £90 and to contact them regarding the issue. After speaking to O2 previously, they informed me that the number did not belong to O2; and because of this, I decided to do a little digging. Receiving about 3 or 4 calls a day from this number. It's a cold call about PPI.

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

This number is apparently a "proxy": I called it back and the caller was NOT in Worthing...? Scotland, apparently..!? Anyway, DONT answer, or indeed EVER call back.... ;-)
