Actually sounded very plausible. Knew my name and address. Said that my washing machine cover had run out. Couldn't remember when I bought it but didn't think that it was over a year and thought I had 5 year manu's warranty (checked afterwards & correct on both counts). Company was APS or something. SCAM: Claiming to be from virgin media. Asian sounding voice. Suggesting a problem with my router. Asking me to go to a computer and follow his instructions! I ended the call. He then continued to call my number every hour for most of the day. Ignored it. Later another unknown number called that I suspect was him/ them trying again. I ignored it.

Called me, then when I answered, hung up. I phoned the number back - message telling me to hang on. Probably premium rate number.
SCAM had my name and was trying to get details like age and if I was a smoker out of me. While I was talking he googled the number to see if it’s from the pension company he was claiming he was from. It didn’t come up so I told him it’s a scam and i’m giving his number to the police. He began to cuss me out and said “you’re a waste of time. Go jump off a bridge and kill yourself” and then he hung up the phone. He was trying to force an english accent but was definitely foreign. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.
