They rang under the guise that they wanted to update details as we've just moved to the property (we've been here nearly 20 years). They wanted to know details of our business energy supply. I told them to take me off their database but they told me they couldn't unless I gave them the information they wanted. I repeated I wanted to be taken off their database and again they said they'd review it and put the phone down on me. Angry. Tried to phone them back but answerphone kicked in immediately. Not hap

Caller said he was "Bruce" (he had a foreign accent, so I doubt this was his real name) from "Local Government Grant Scheme". I asked what company he represented; he said he was "not from a company. I am calling on behalf of the Local Government Grant Scheme". I asked if he was from the local government, and he said yes. "Which local government?" I asked. "Nottinghamshire," he replied. I asked for his phone number, and which department he worked for. He gave this number, and I said this was not a Nottingham
