SCAM Said he was calling my local area about insulation. I asked what local area would that be and he stuttered a few times then said "thanks for your time" and hung up ! At least he was a polite scammer - I put his number on block

claimed to be from the security department (but didn't say of which bank/credit card company) claimed to have identified two probably fraudulent transactions. invited me to press 1 to cancel or 2 to speak to someone. I pressed 2, but the line went dead. Looks to me very much like a scam.
Called twice in two minutes, said hello, nobody answered.
This is a telephone scammer. The call pretends to be from HMRC asking to call them back because they want to speak to your solicitor, give a name you are supposed to ask for (sorry I can't remember it, David something) they add that there will be consequences for not calling them back. Very threatening and frightening for someone who can't identify scam calls. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/phishing-and-bogus-emails-hm-revenue-and-customs-examples/phishing-emails-and-bogus-contact-hm-reve
