Couldn't even get the make and model of my car correct, entertained the phone call for a few minutes acting dumb saying I don't remember having an accident or incident...
This caller, a male with Asian accent, is potentially dangerous. He said he was from BT and that my broadband connection had been compromised. When I explained that I did not have a phone line from BT any more, I asked how could he know that my internet connection had been compromised. There was a few moments of silence while he thought of a suitable answer, then he said that the phone lines were provided by BT. Called twice today, 2nd time answered: asked for my partner by name & claimed to be from People's Energy who are our energy supplier and are based in Edinburgh so that matches the area code (0131). My partner wasn't happy to confirm security information for an unsolicited call though and they were happy to end the call requesting we call them. Swindon Window Centre called my number this morning and they have held my number on a recall system, so that each time I try to ring out, it automatically rings them and charges for each call. Can t delete this, so have to get on to BT.
Saying that I was due a hearing test and may be due a payment because of previously working in a noisy construction work environment. This was false info as I have never worked in that environment. Caller also knew my first name and street. Terminated the call.
