Suspected Scammer - querying membership of Amazon Prime.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. Sounds like the same as everyone else. Apparently, there s a warrant for our arrest. The start of the message was cut off so it s not clear what I m going to be arrested for, but considering the number he wants me to call isn t one from HMRC I doubt it s genuine.

Male phoned and said he had been tasked with contacting me because I had worked in engineering. When I told him I had never worked in this sector, he closed the call. It is apparent from other messages here that this is a claims management company trawling for possible clients.

Just had this number call (Liverpool code, with non-geographical sub-code 808) - but I never pick up the phone. Worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will now be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. This explains the silent treatment from any real person (low-lifeform) at the other end. Let the phone ring until the other end gets fed up and ends the call, then dial 1471 and note down the number.
