Very persistent... I asked again if they could remove my details from their database at which point she put the phone down on me... Very unprofessional and underpins the values of the company,!!

Hi, I got a text from this number (+44 311 46) which had my name on it and it’s from someone who I don’t know and the number I don’t recognise. May be dangerous but more times than not I don’t answer numbers I don’t recognise.
I believe they re trying to find numbers which are "live" so they can sell them on to telemarketers and other unscrupulous types. Grotty little businesses. The best way of doing that is calling and then seeing which phones get answered. If a phone is answered then it must be "live" so they hang up and that number is sold on to a 3rd party. Then if you own the number and you answered you get even more nuisance calls.

Just took a call from this number - they asked for me by name and then said I had recently entered a competition and thats how they got my number and they wanted to save me money on my power supplier - I politely explained I wasnt the bill payer and wasn t interested. The guy then demanded to speak to the bill payer - I told him they are not available and not interested. He then went on a rant at me - at which point I hung up and blocked the number. Rung 12 times in the past 8 days. I ve been away in the USA so finally answered now I m back and wished I hadn t.
