Suspected reason for spoofing their number is they leave you a message (probably regarding a purchase you made) and want you to call back. SCAM / SPAM Telephoned Sunady afternoon - answered as expecting urgent call from hospital. No one at the other end although connection made. I cut off after 15 seconds.
Call received from Carphone Warehouse wanting me to take out a new phone contract. Seemed friendly and genuine but I was not interested.
P.S.- You can also block scammers on an iPhone by going to SETTINGS / PHONE / CALL BLOCKING & IDENTIFICATION. :-)
SPAM picked up pressed 1 it was answered by what sounded like a call center and one of our asian friends,who promptly said he was from the national insurance compromising team...i just stated if he wanted my bank details as well...phone was swiftly put down at his end..get an honest job if you go to HRMC site it clearly states they will not ,text,call,email about your personal details utter fraud/scam
