Claiming to be from HMRC regarding my tax fraud
07976865148 - Person called "Andy", claiming to work for Virgin [Media], requesting if he could collect old equipment!? Didn't address me by name, just said "Hello, this is Andy, from Virgin." When I proceeded to question him, seemed like he wasn't expecting my line of questioning and got a little exasperated, spinning me some BS about what they are doing due to Covid-19 is collecting from old customers so we don't have to post the equipment back. Peter is right - this is a call out number only used by Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, to discuss appointments or other matters relating to the patient. Unless the caller is sure they are actually speaking to the right person they will not identify themselves or offer a reason for the call. This is to protect patient confidentiality. I know this because I am one of those patients!

I'm more and more convinced it is a scam. I was called this morning, by an automated voice, that there is a proceeding against me because I didn't pay my taxes, and if I want to avoid further consequences (including jail!), I should press 1. Pulled over, pressed 1, a female voice greeted me and asked for personal data. I didn't give any, and asked if there is a number I can call them back on. She said she would call me back later instead. Once home, checekd with HMRC, no issues with my status or taxes.
