Called again this morning 8am but this I answered they claimed to be a tele blocking agency and that our blocking service had expired and we needed to renew it. TAXES / HMRC Received a recorded message from female with American accent, (similar voice to many other recorded calls threatening legal action). It purported to be from HMRC and legal proceedings have been instituted against me. Told me to press button 1 for further information. This is DANGEROUS THREATENING BOGUS CALL. DO NOT PRESS BUTTON 1 AS IT ALLOWS CALLER ACCESS TO YOUR PHONE.
This number has called me a few times today. Hung up when I answered. I've now blocked the number. I hope the police officer, who posted earlier, is able to find out who is behind this scam.
