I don't know think its safe I got a virus in my phone for a while and aI thought my Fb might be hacked ! I just went into my settings no where my WhatsApp was ,my own number was there . But where my FB was this number was there .and I have put soft ware in . I thought I deleted FB and re installed and no we I installed the installed the latest soft ware Amazon is not recognizing me .I have to re log in everywhere . It's a right pain. This appeared to be a local number - but when answered I heard a recorded message from 'Amazon Prime' regarding my non existent subscription - so this number is a scam line
The caller said that they were from the National Grid and needed to change my meter. Apparently it is malfunctioning. This is a prelude to trying to get my bank details I thin; I didn't hold on for long enough to find out.
Something to do with appliance insurance. Keep calling, getting annoying now.

I have BT guardian which asks callers to announce who they are before I answer. Most sales calls hang up at that point, this one didn't. Lovely lady explained that I could have a half hour appointment to check energy efficiency of my home and advise of any improvements. I made the appointment. Very polite young man called Adam arrived, checked the loft and roof, looked around, discussed my energy payment per month. The information given was useful, nothing to sign, no sales pitch. I would have no worries.

Claimed to be from Virgin, calling about internet. Got increasingly frustrated with me when I said I didn’t recognise the number and would call Virgin myself. Didn’t believe the guy with Indian accent and I hung up when he wouldn’t go away. Scary as it sounded like a big call centre in the background and it would be easy to get sucked in. Hope everyone hangs up and karma catches up with what I believe are scammers.
Seems to be phishing scam; automated voice advised of financial fraud, but not from banking company.
Called me twice stating he was from Microsoft and stated our computer was being hacked. on the second call he shouted, "Have I tried to sell you something... NO!!!!! Have I asked you for your bank account or for money... NO!!" I was very angry and gave him some nice new words to look up. There is no way he was a specialist from Microsoft!

Received a call from this number claiming to be Microsoft saying that they've detected a problem with my computer and asked if I can switch on my computer. Previous callers have been from so called Double glazing, green energy and investment companies.
