My aged mother in law had a call from them saying they wanted to renew her prevention of nuisance calls. She asked me to speak to them as she could not clearly hear them. They said she had previously had this service and it had expired. To renew it they wanted what the caller called my mother in law's call protection number which was actually her debit card 16 digit number, in order to identify her. I received a call from 0800 389 0755...missed it so thought it was a client and called it back, voicemail stated it was Santander and they would call back. First issue I had with this is I don t or never have banked with Santander.vso I sourced the local branch number to enquire if someone had opened an account in my name or if there were any fraudulent activity regarding my name number.
