Somebody called 'Tom' saying he was "ringing me back about the government-funded insulation and lagging that I'd enquired about". Another obvious scam as I've never done any such thing and live in a ground floor apartment.

I received a call late morning on a Saturday from this number which I did not answer as I know of nobody in Worksop, the 'phone area from which it came. If the call was important a voice message could have been left ... there was none. Using reverse number lookup I could not find any details of the caller, so I rate this as a nuisance call and a possible scam/spam call.

Actually sounded very plausible. Knew my name and address. Said that my washing machine cover had run out. Couldn't remember when I bought it but didn't think that it was over a year and thought I had 5 year manu's warranty (checked afterwards & correct on both counts). Company was APS or something. She was well spoken, no accent. But she was never going to hook me as she said it would cost £60 a year & she had reduced that from £99!! Came up international (didn't spot that) but 1471 gave th
