Asking me to renew the cover on my washing machine. When I asked her to confirm what type of washing machine I have she told me not to tell her how to do her job and hung up.. I have never had cover on my washing machine.
First received a text while driving saying ‘Can I call you later?’ 50 mins later a phone call came. I didn’t pick up. Instead I then texted back: ‘Sorry don’t recognise yr number. Who is it?’ No further response to date. No idea if genuine new contact or an attempt at some scam

They called at 8am claiming to be from BT Openreach which seemed suprising at that time of day. I hung up.

Called today @ 13:05 hrs. I have a call blocker on my landline set to 'announce'. This seems to work for all of these low life scammers. They do not introduce themselves to be put through. Telephone does not even ring. My suggestion is to get 'Call Guardian'

In the text message they use a shortened URL link, which is a common tactic for scammers. A scam call (standard visa dept suspicious payments scam) told me his name is Oliver Reed and I should call 02081447612 which he said was the number for "Nat West Anti Fraud Dept." I checked, it isn't. So I suspect the number is to the third-level scam master.
