Asking me if i'm still married and if so do i know I can transfer some of my tax allowance to my wife and claim up to a £1000. A scam obviously, I did it through the genuine gov website years ago.
I didn't answer - unnervingly, they left a message that seemed to include my surname.

SCAM / SPAM Gentleman with the strong accent called me saying that his name was officer Peter Jones and that he was representing HMRC quarters. I was tald that the phone call was recorded by HMRC and Royal Court of Justice, and anything I say during the telephone conversation will be used against me in court. I deal with HMRC for over 15 years now as I am working as Finance Manager, and I have never received calls of a similar nature .Be aware and do not give out your personal details or agree to pay for
