Text message claiming to be Royal Mail. Parcel being held at depot due to underpaid postage. Wanting payment or parcel would be returned to sender.
SCAM
This a 2 stage scam. first the scammer has your card details and phone number. but they lack the pin to auth a transaction on your card. so they will attempt an £0.00 transaction using your card. This is on purpose. because the main scam is in the 2nd part. they want your bank to text you that there was an attempted payment on your card. and to text yes or no to. of course the scammer expect you to text no. in 5 min you get a text about this number that will call you. You get a call from this number saying
Trying to con you into giving payment details by saying your washing machine cover is due to run out and they are doing the renewal insurance cover. As soon as I said surely there would be a charge and he said yes, i said well I dont want to pay for anything, he hung up. He had my full name and address and telephone number.

Wanted to sell me a new phone contract to replace an O2 one. I don't HAVE an O2 contract, so definitely phishing. Said he was calling from "Compare The Network" in Shrewsbury, UK...
