It IS Sky and if you ask them they will openly state they got your number from a third party. IE, they bought it. Have you done a survey of ANY kind? If so that is how your number is passed to them. They will apologise and remove your number from their database if you request it.
Called claiming to be from BT offering a substantial discount. Quoted an incorrect postcode and when challenged, hung up.
