I was rang at approx 11.25 and informed that the government owed me over ?4000, the caller had my name address, and knew which bank I used, I gave no bank details out though, but he saud I was to ring back giving id no RB51 and it woould be arranged for me to receive a cheque!!I am sceptical but have not taken any further or rang back with id no.
This is an automated call claiming to be from Her Majesty’s Government claiming that a tax fraud exists in the recipient’s name.

I just had a call from them & never picked it up. Assuming from all the comments on here, it sounds like it is Vodafone trying to get hold of the owner of all new phones to either check the service is ok or to check something else. I am surprised nobody else has clicked on to this yet......Doesn t sound too dodgy to me. Obviously Adrian has opted for no marketing calls from Carphone Warehouse themselves.
