SCAM - initial recording warned my electric was going to be shut off in a few minutes. When I transferred to a "representative" it was what sounded like an Indian man. He asked my name and verified my address. Funny thing is, my electric bill is in a family members name. He told me the "balance" and the amount was incorrect because I have my bill in front of me and an a real call wouldn't give me info since the account isn't in my name without other info. Plus, it's Satur
SCAM
Automated call claiming £900 was being taken off my VISA card if I didn't press button to stop transaction.
Be good to know
Tod me to press 1 and i did and no message. Disgraceful.
Yet another scam call from someone with my details. I asked how she'd got the details and she said "from a database". I asked which database and she said "her job was only to offer an extension to my washing machine guarantee". As I have no such thing anyway, it was easy to know it was a scam. Unfortunately these despicable people keep going because there are still those not wise to their tricks :-(
Another Amazon scam. Apparently £300 Amazon and over £1k international spending.
Fraud. Sent message wanting bank details for postage of Covid test . Do not answer it’s sent from Russia .

Probable Fraud/Scam - Heavily Indian accented female called Rachel called me purporting to be working for Microsoft at the Reading Campus. Claimed there was a problem with my computer and "bad people were using it for bad things on the internet". Told me she would deactivate my computer if I didn't do what she said. Got quite rude when I told her I didn't believe her. Stalled her for 5 minutes before she hung up on me.
Recorded message claiming to be from Visa Debit stating £900 has just been taken from your account.
Phoned my number, looks to be a non-geographic VIOP spoofing as The local numbers do not start with 59,
Appears to be a scam, allegedly a credit company but as we don’t have credit this would appear to be a con!

obviously a scam phone call
SCAM- bank withdrawals
Received a call from this number today for purporting to be Bank Security ...then advising that a card of mine had been used for a £300 payment to Amazon; and then another payment of £1,000 etc etc. Not possible. It was at that point that I ran off. This was obviously a SCAM hub. The voice was an automated recording.
