Household appliance insurance. Said mine was being changed to cheaper company and then started to ask my bank details. Knew my name and address. Kept quoting some key number of something similar which meant nothing to me. Confident London female voice. When I said I d have to ring back got defensive and said would ring me. The only way to get at these people is to go onto the Information Commisioner s website and report the number. If enough of us do this, they will investigate the number. There are very heavy fines for companies who do this. Report them every time you get a call - it is very easy to do.

Irish lad said he was calling about my frozen pension. i played along and made up stuff about a fictitious pension which he VERIFIED. When said I was just digging out the file to get the pension reference number he hung up, l am a pension administrator so can baffle them with terminology. Proves these calls are a scam.
