SCAM Indian call centre called claiming to be BT and said that my WiFi was being used illegally by other people without my knowledge. They even sent me texts and emails on legitimate BT numbers and email addresses. Call claimed to be from Vodafone retentions department promising me a 40% discount, asked me a bunch of security questions and then asked me to read him the code from a password reset email that he had triggered on my Vodafone account. This apparently would enable him to send me the priority app so I could access 5G calls and VIP features. Alarm bells at this point. I said I'd call him back then checked with Vodafone. They confirmed that this is not a number they use and not to give out any information. SC

Was cold called from this number today - I think it was a scammer - pretending to be a senior network technician from BT wanting to ask me about "error messages from my internet wifi connection". From the questions I was asked, I think it likely they were about to try to get me to give them remote access to my computer. I told them not to phone me again and out the phone down.
