This is an automated voice call that says my Amazon Prime membership will renew for £79.99. Except I don’t have Prime. Contacted Amazon and they said it’s defo not them and to report it. But I am failing to see what the ‘purpose’ of this scam call is since i wasn’t asked for anything? Amazon said they will probably call later and ask for payment.

I did not know I was being charged extra, I don’t even know why I started to receive text from this 88222 number. My monthly phone bill is normally £45 per month unlimited talk and text and 4gb data. Last month my bill was slightly higher, this month my bill went to £89 pounds all because I was receiving messages from the number 88222. I had to send STOP to prevent further higher bills.

Recorded message to my mobile claiming to be National crime agency, saying they were suspending my national insurance number etc etc. Area code is Bolton near Bold Street according to this site. NCA would ring in person and know my name. Clearly a scam.
Answered the phone and it was immediately hung up, did 1471 and came up as 08437246043, not impressed by stupid calls of this nature
