This number keeps calling me whilst I'm at work and can't answer! I certainly won't be answering the phone now I know it's nothing important!

The following steps are suggested:

Calls to our (call screened, not on BT) number from 0800 044 5265. No message left, multiple attempts on multiple days. Calling that 0800 number says they are Stellar a partner of BT, and to call BT on 0800 028 2272. Don t bother if you aren t on BT. They ll tell you "you aren t on BT, we have no record of you!". Useless. A websearch for Stellar suggests 01294 225300. Calling that number: 1) they confirm the 0800 044 5265 caller ID is them calling on behalf of BT. 2) They ll remove our number from

They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. I m generally pretty careful giving out my details but for some reason this time wasn t. The company called me I was given a name John Quinn and they seemed to have alot of my details already and were very pleasant. But looking back they were desperate to get my details and evasive of giving an actual amount. They promised me an email the same day and a call at 15.30. Neither of which I got. I spoke to the bank, they weren t very helpful either. Eventually I cancelled my card an froze my account. Not ideal
