Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 17089074xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI, Accident claims, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

tried to phone back. went immediately to recorded message, "Sorry all our agents are busy at the moment please leave your name and number..." I didn't wait to hear end of message. The fact they were not willing to state who they were in their message is enough evidence for me that they want to sell me something.
Rang me back in February regarding an no fault accident I had in 2015 asking me if I suffered injury, this is the second time the first time I asked them to remove my details well that didn t work did it. Very pushy and didn t want to hear what I wanted to say very rude company.

Same thing, this number has been ringing and asking for my personal details so that they can talk to me about my account. I refused to give them those details, rang my bank who said they would never make a call like that and that there was no reason fro them to call me.

I think the UK regulator in the field is failing us as the public. What do they actually do? In my opinion virtual numbers and use there of including the companies that provide these numbers needs to be monitored to stop this abuse. I regard this as a data breach likely stolen. For the last 2 days have had 3 calls a day which i ignore. I ignore them after the very first time i answered someone spoke the other end and then hung up! Rude. I am a very busy mum of 4 young children and do not have the time for these calls. My husband thinks it is 2 do with the callers having targets to meet and they need to be seen to calling people certain number of times.
