I have been called three times today from this number - the caller claims to be calling from Amazon and asking me to respond by tapping numbers. I have not taken any action as I believe this to be a scam.

Says they are calling fom BT about a problem with internet speed and need to log onto my laptop to fix it. I kept them on the phone for about 30 mins playing along until I got bored and told them they would need to book an appointment if they wanted to try scam me.
Insulation. 2 calls so far today. Straight onto script about how my existing loft insulation is damaging my property ! Talked over me continuously. If they call again I’ll just hang up straight away.

SCAM Answered call, advised to press 1 or a warrant for my arrest would be issued. Said it was HMRC and there was a fraud investigation in my name. I advised before I provided personal details, could they advice the reason for the call as no letters had been issued. The caller terminated the call.
I can t really say that this number is NOT TRUSTWORTHY, as if you want a lower gas/electric tariff, it may just be in your interest to answer the call, but if you are happy with your supplier, just answer the fone & let them know that you are happy with your service & they ll take your name off the ring list. Good Luck xx

Spoke to my father, said she was from a company that blocks his nuisance calls. He has no such service? (Is there even one other than BT called protect?) I suspect she was a scammer as we have had similar spiels from callers in the past one of which was desperately trying to get Dad to "confirm" his bank details.
