Txt message saying from British gas asking for meter reads. Not sure if it's a scam but safer to log onto your British gas account and submit your meter reads there. Normally companies like this would not use a mobile number and it would show as British gas and not the actual number
I am marking this as a potential scam. Called from 'tax advisory group', saying I was owed money from HMRC. But they couldn't tell me how much or my home address. Call center Loans To Go apparently, when I picked up, I pretended not to hear him, after a few hello's he said "I know you can hear me, you sound like a Jeff" and hung up.
Claiming to be from o2 I wouldn't give any personal details to them and they wished me a good day and said goodbye.
Absolute scam. Claimed to be from OpenReach told me they would switch the internet off for 72 hours as our IP address was public and it was a GDPR issue. When I told them to make our IP address private as they actually own the internet, they told me they couldn't. I had to run a software on my laptop to do it. Literally do not do anything they say!
Why this person called my WhatsApp I have no idea.
