got called by this number on my mobile. No one ever calls on my mobile, except this number. I did make an insurance claim 2 years ago after someone dented a rental car I took out in Aus and didn't leave any contact details. Insurance company & Aus rental car company had my mobile number and these calls started 3 months after the prang, so I suspect my details were sold - probably by the insurance company to recoup their losses (I understand they do that sort of thing).
Several calls have been made to me recently using the 0042 code. I have not answered the calls and Google suggests these are fictitious numbers used by scammers.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 17734055xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI, insurance claims, but also energy schemes - Scottish power. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

SCAM. Initial silence then a voice saying that like most people in the last 10 to 20 years I probably had fibreglass loft insulation on a government scheme and now had damp and mould. He wanted to arrange a loft survey. I said I had no loft insulation and could check my own loft but he carried on.
