Sounded like a recorded call purporting to be from Mastercard about a security issue about a £600 charge this morning. Well, Mastercard would not call - my card provider would do so. I banged down the phone, but to be regarded as dangerous. Beware.

Got a call from 0208 415 1292 claiming to be from HMRC with an automated message saying that I have tax evaded, without stating my name or anything, and the message carries on saying that they have a warrant on me :P honestly!?!?!?!?... they carry on asking me to press this and that button, which I didn't ofc... I hung up... Careful guys when you get calls from unknown people asking you to press this button or that, you may be giving way for hackers to clone your phone.

Banking Automated call 'This is bank security ' alleging two card transactions on account. As there is less than £100 in the account, this seems highly unlikely. Simply hung up at this point, but such calls are annoying and potentially dangerous. Have cheçked with my bank in the past, who assure me they would never make such a call
"Sharon" from the "Citizens Advisory Service" just called me and informed me of some alleged unsecured loans that I need help with!?!?!? When I told her this was untrue and she shouldn t be looking at my financial information, she shouted "shut up. shut up!" down the phone and hung up. I d say that was pretty dodgy wouldn t you?

We're in Hull on Kingston Telecom, so no BT landlines here. Their office location is said to be in London, on or close to Trafalgar Sq. ... so very close, the Met could pick them up. I had a silent call (on 15/5/15)& as I was expecting a call from unknown people on this area code, I used 1471 and phoned back. I heard a recorded message "You were called today by Media Match. The cal was not important and we will try again later. Goodbye" A Google search for Media Match shows a US firm with this name, but on websites similar to this one they claim that they do not cold-call and that their name is being mis-used.
